Data Protection Officer

Position Overview:
As a Data Protection Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing data protection strategy and implementation across all company locations to ensure compliance with GDPR and other local data protection requirements. You will also be responsible for educating the company and its employees on important compliance requirements, training staff involved in data processing, and conducting regular security audits. You will serve as the point of contact between the company and any Supervisory Authorities (SAs) that oversee activities related to data. You will need to monitor performance and provide advice on the impact of data protection efforts, maintain comprehensive records of all data processing activities conducted by the company, including the purpose of all processing activities, which must be made public on request. You will act as a primary interface with data subjects to inform them about how their data is being used, their rights to have their personal data erased, and what measures the company has put in place to protect their personal information. You will report to the General Counsel of the company.
Responsibilities:
Informing and advising Cyren's executives and employees of their obligations to comply with the GDPR and other data protection laws.
Monitoring compliance with the GDPR and other data protection laws, including managing internal data protection activities, training data processing staff, and conducting internal audits.
Advising on data protection impact assessments when required under GDPR Article 35.
Working and cooperating with the designated supervisory authority and serving as the contact point for the supervisory authority on issues relating to the processing of personal data.
Being available for inquiries from data subjects on issues relating to data protection practices, withdrawal of consent, the right to be forgotten and related rights.
Being available for inquiries from various Cyren locations.
Skills/Requirements
Requirements:
Knowledge of the GDPR and other EU-level data protection regulations
Knowledge of relevant Member State data protection provisions
Knowledge of Data Protection, Information Technologies and Security practices
Ability to distill complex legal requirements into understandable business actions
Ability to work under minimum supervision
Excellent risk assessment skills
Multi-lingual communication abilities to interact with data processors and data subjects
Ability to work with remote teams
Proven experience in creating buy-in and delivering training programs
Strong experience with 3rd party risk management
Strong experience with cross-border data transfer mechanisms and experience with big data practices
Fluent in English

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
